Back to work....

Yep sadly I had to go back to work on Monday. Luckily it was only half day, but I still missed my little girl like crazy. I was strong though, no tears!! I just have to keep telling myself that it’s only till May. Russ will graduate then, and hopefully get a job that he likes! He’s had some interviews so we will see what happens. But I’m going to miss being a stay at home mom all the time. Thankfully my mom is going to watch her for couple of hours on Mon and Wed. till I get home and Russ has Tuesdays and Thursdays off so he can watch her. Fridays and some Saturdays I have off yay!
I do have to vent about Wells Fargo a little….so sorry to you Wells people who read this. Wells has been trying to better their customer service in the branches so they have come up with having the tellers shake the hands of their customers. We already have to say “Welcome to Wells Fargo”, say our name, smile, talk to them the whole time, say “thank you for your business”, and incorporate their name in somewhere during the transaction. All of which I think is great customer service….saying my name is a little awkward at times but I can handle that. But they have gone too far with this whole hand shake thing. First of all, talk about the germ spread. I already touch the dirty money, now I have to touch their dirty hands. Plus, people who come in not handling money, now has to shake my hand who has handled everyone’s dirty money. Nasty!! Anti-bacterial you say, well it will dry my hands out, make them crack, then bleed. Oh how fun is that! Second of all reaching over the teller line to shake hands is weird and awkward!! Everyone I have talked to thinks it’s pretty stupid. They don’t want to come in the bank to shake hands…. just to get their stuff done and out of there!! I can justify the hand shake with a banker when they introduce themselves and invite the custimer into their space to help them with different things. I'm interested in what you all think! I'm doing a survey!!!
Make sure you TAKE THE SURVEY on the side panel!! We will see what the people have to say!

Im excited to see you back at the bank, even though I know you wish you were home. And I won't make you shake my hand. Maybe you could suggest doing the Howie Mandell knuckles thing instead.

I totally understand having to go back to work. The first day I went back I cried so hard my boss sent me home. It is never easy to drop them off, but it does get less difficult. At least you can count on family and not day care. I think that would be impossible for me. I planned to go back for 3 months for insurance/bonus purposes. 16 months later I am still here. Two days a week. It has become something I enjoy because I get a break with adults. My baby is more social and less clingy because of it but most importantly, I appreciate the time I have with him more. I know it is hard to hear now, but you will be a much better person for it and it will make you stronger. Know that you are not alone. With this economy there are a lot of women having to go back to work and lucky to find a job. I hope it all works out. I would be happy to take Whit if you need help.
PS, If my bank teller started to shake my hand, I would start using the drive through on a regular basis. Talk about awkward.
Sorry that was so long.

Hey girl! Having worked at wells myself in the past, I can't IMAGINE having to shake hands and do a freaking dance for the customers! Don't get me wrong, I was so nice and offered everything I could to a customer, but seriously- I don't want to shake someone's hand and chat with them the whole time and have them kiss my butt when I'm making a deposit! As for dirty hands, I'm with you. All that money is so nasty! We used to have subway merchant deposits, and my drawer would smell like subway. I still can't eat there because of it. Nasty. Hope things change and they drop the dumb requirements, and that you get to quit soon!
