Rolling over!
Whit and I went over to my moms house today since Ashley and Avery were over. My mom was telling me that Whit needs to have more tummy time since I never put her on her tummy that much. Well as soon as we did it, she just rolled right over. Yay! She did it several times and we were able to take a little movie on my phone and send it to Daddy. He was so proud. Great job Whit.....you're getting so big!!

LAST HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT
Last night Russ came up stairs while Linda and I were watching a movie, gave us a glass of sparkling cider, and told us to wait a minute before drinking. He then grabbed the stapler and his homework assignment and we toasted and drank while he stapled his last assignment he will ever have to do! (Well until he decides to go for his doctorate.) He was a happy camper to have it all over with! Yay! Good for you honey! Next week he only has three finals he has to do, then he is done!! We leave on our vacation just after that-I CANT WAIT!! He has worked so hard. I think after he graduates we are going to have a bonfire and burn all his papers he did! That will be fun. Honey-GREAT JOB!!
Metcalf Flu
Well last week was a terrible week for the Metcalf family. On Sunday night, the 19th, we had a big BBQ at my moms house which was a lot of fun! But apparently there was a virus going around that wasted all of us. Every single one of us (the exception of Russ and Whit) was really sick, throwing up. Even little Avery and Alyssa (Avery : 10 months & Alyssa: 11 months) Kris and her kids were the first to get it, then Wes.....and pretty soon all of us were dropping like flies. It was terrible. I felt so bad and this may be tmi, but I didn't know I had that much stuff in me that could come out. I was so thankful that Whit didn't get it though. We all thought it was food poisoning, but since the babies got too, we knew it was a bad virus. I thought being sick while pregnant was bad...this beat it hands down. We are all feeling good now thank goodness. I HATE being sick. Its the worst. Who knows, maybe it was the swine flu! Ooohhhhh. jk. Glad it wasn't. Poor people.

EASTER
For Easter we had a fun Easter Egg hunt with all the Evans family on Saturday. Whitney found her little eggs and just looked so cute in her little dress. After the hunt we went over to Devan and Ginny's to see a cool rocket go off, but sadly it didn't work. So the kids went down the zip line that they have in their backyard! Its the funnest thing to ride!! Then we went back home and had some yummy food with everyone. Toast, eggs, and gravy. I forgot what its called, but it was yummy. We were suppose to have hash browns too, but someone forgot to bring/buy them. Yep-that was me. How dumb am I. Oops. I had a little bit left over in the freezer, so everyone just got a little spoonful. I hope someday I will be on top of it again. But don't hold your breath on that one. hee hee. Then we loaded up on candy. Don't you just love Easter candy? I do-my favorite is the Reese's eggs, caramelo bunnies (i just found this year) the whopper eggs, M&M, and many more. I just love candy period! On Sunday morning Daddy and Whit went around the house and found their Easter baskets. Whit's was in the dryer and Dad's was hidden under some cloths in his closet. Whit got a new outfit, new shoes, sun block, and a swimming suit. She is already for summer. After we found the Easter baskets we went to church and heard some great talks and lessons on the reason for Easter. Our Saviors atonement for all mankind, his death, and the resurrection. How wonderful that gift is! After church we went over to Grannys and had some dinner and took some pictures. She had our cute bunny shirt on, and her bunny shoes! For Easter she got a lamby and she has been inseparable from it. She loves to have it with her when she sleeps. She always puts it right next to her face and cuddles. Cute!

Poor little Whitney!
Our little girl has been sick for 6 days now. Her poor little body must be so tired of coughing all the time. Her nose and throat have been stuffed up and it breaks my heart to watch her suffer like that and not being able to do anything about it. On Sunday she sounded really bad and we ended up calling the doctor. Her breathing was ok, so we waited until Monday to go in. Luckily she doesn’t have r.s.v or croup. But the sad thing is that there is nothing they can do for that terrible, terrible cough. They actually cleaned her out with this sucking machine and she felt a little better. Mom cant quite get as many with her little booger sucker as the doctor does. We went in the next day just to get her sucked out again without an appointment, but the nurse was so concerned with her coughing that she had our doctor check her again. But yet again, her breathing is just fine and it hasn’t gone to her lungs. She has been a good sport though, despite her miserable state, she still manages to smile. She’s at the age now where she just smiles so good for everyone. She is also discovering that she can play with things with her hands. She is constantly playing with my shirts, her bars on her crib, and anything else she can get her little hands on. The other day she started playing with Megan’s necklace. She is getting to be so smart. She is especially good at holding her head up now! While being sick she has been a little clingy which is just fine by me, the poor thing. She loves to hold our fingers when we are holding her in our arms and she’s been a little spoiled in sleeping next to mom and dad. I just feel safer with her next to me cause the doctor says I need to watch her breathing closely. It’s a scary thing to have such a little baby so sick. It really breaks my heart. Hopefully it’s on the down slop now.
You've got mail.....
You’ve got mail…….a package? A job? That is what Russ and I have been anticipating for the last 2 weeks. Russ had a guy call from Hill Air Force Base saying that he might be hired on to work on his team in making part of the rockets that fly to space! Sweet ‘eh!!! This is the idea job that Russ is looking for and we have been hoping, praying, and trying to have faith that it will come. Everyday we check the mail….nothing. Day after day, either of us would go to the mail hoping that a package would come with an offer, but nothing yet. Monday I was on my way home from taking Whit to the Doctors, since she has been sick, and I saw the mail man approaching out house. I just had this feeling that the package would be there today. While I was taking Whit inside from the car, Russ called and told me to check the mail….exactly what I was planning on doing after seeing the mailman. We went to the mail box and lo and behold…..there was nothing. Dang it! I have had such anxiety over this and have tried to have faith that he gets this, cause we’d stay in Utah, I could quit my job and just be a mom. That’s what I want to bad. Plus I know that Russ wants this job so bad! It’s the coolest job ever and would be great pay! He would love it. Well I was in the other room on the computer when Russ told me to come in the other room right a way. He was doing his homework on his computer and told me to read this email. I looked, read, then screamed!! I hugged my hubby and jumped up and down!! RUSS GOT THE JOB!! He got the job…..I couldn’t believe it!! It came in an email, not the mail. I am so happy for him!! Russ is just so ecstatic to have this position at Hill!! Russ starts his new job just after we get back from Florida!! Our prayers were answered and life is beautiful!!
