High on the mountain top....

Yesterday we had the opportunity to go to the temple dedication for the Draper temple. The spirit was so strong there and the talks were just so uplifting. My biggest impression I took home with me is that I need to do my family history more and learn the names and lives of the people before me. What a wonderful gift and blessing it is to be sealed to our families and to be able to do the work for our love ones that may not have had the change here on earth. The temple has so many wonderful blessing and promises. I really need to make a bigger effort to get there more often. It is truly extraordinary to have all these temples surrounding us. Especially to walk out my front door and see that beautiful temple high on the mountain top! Singing that song at the dedication just gave me goose bumps. How accurate that it to have that wonderful building high for all the world to see. I am grateful for the gospel in my life and to have eternal families. The gospel is so full of love, hope, peace, and especially truth. I’m so thankful for the many people that sacrificed and dedicated their lives to have this gospel restored and giving to us in these latter days. I’m grateful for the great leaders in the church, especially our prophet Thomas S Monson! It’s been so fun to get to know him a lot more and to see what a neat guy he really is. We are blessed to have the truth!!

Once again......

....Whitney had a great night! She only got up once during the night and Mom slept great again!! Two months and three weeks, not to bad!!! Keep it up Whit!

Sleeping through the night........

Last night was a great night because Whit, for the most part, slept through the night. We were out late having dinner and fun with Rich, Lisa, Jeff and Kara, so we didn’t get in bed till about 1:30p. Whit was already fed at 11p and was sleeping, but Russ had been gone over night to work on a cabin the night before, so of course he had to have a little bit of cuddle time with Whit before we put her in the crib. He started to drift off, so I had Whit sleeping next to me because I expected to feed her again in a half hour or so, but I zonked and she didn’t get up to feed until 6:30a. So from 11p to 6:30p is considered sleeping through the night for me. I’m still use to every three or four hours, so I was a happy camper. Now if only I’d be smart enough to go to sleep when she does! But luckily she fell right back to sleep and didn’t feed again till 10:30a. I was well rested….gotta love it!! Plus, I know people say not to do it, but I love sleeping with that cuddle bug!!

TWO YEARS AND COUNTING!!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!

Today, March 16th is our 2 year anniversary! I cant believe how fast time goes! The past two years I can honestly say that I've loved every minute of it. Russ makes it so easy to be married! We are very similar in personalities, pretty easy going, making it really easy to get a long great. We both have our own way of making things fun. We could be doing absolutely nothing and it would still be a blast! I LOVE YOU HONEY!! He really is a wonderful guy and I'm very lucky! I look forward to hanging out with him for many more years to come.
Well this year was my turn to make the plans. Last year he went all out and surprised me with an over night stay at a resort called the Zermatt in Midway! I thought I was just going to dinner up there, but he had all our stuff packed to stay the night! Well this year we decided to not spend as much money, so I put together a cheap but fun date! We dropped off little Whit at Granny Carols and headed down town where it all started 2 years ago. We walked around temple square and went to the Church History Museum. We hadn't been there for a couple of years so it was nice to check things out! After that we headed to one of our favorite restaurants-the Teppanyaki Grill. YUMMY! Its kind of pricey so we only go there on special occasions, and this time I had a coupon...bonus! Russ actually has come pretty dang close to getting the rice made just like the restaurant, so who needs to go out and spend the money all the time when you can cook just like it!! After dinner we walked around Gate Way Mall for a while then headed home! It was fun to be out on a date. With a new baby we don't get to do that too much! Although coming home to a cute little smiley girl is quite fun too. She was very good for her Granny while we were out.

Two Hearts Eternal

Last week I finished this book that was based on Nathan Demars and his wife Aleesha's life together. It was written by Aleesha’s mom and talks about Aleesha’s point of view about her life and how she met Nate. I have always known Nate, but it was fun to get to know a little more about Aleesha and their love they had for each other. I knew that Nate had fallen head over heels for this Aleesha girl, but now that I have read about their story of love, it’s become more personal. It is fictionalized, but it’s based around events of their life. But what I like about it the most was it told how they had met before they came to earth and how they already had a love for each other and promised each other they would find each other on earth. Although life was short for them here, passing away in a car accident just five years ago, this book talked about how they were together even now after they had gone. Which we know is definitely true because families are eternally sealed together and given that promise!
I think that is a wonderful blessing and it gives me comfort knowing that I am always going to be with Russ and my kids! Because a love this strong should never be wasted on death do you part! Death do you part-heck no…..Russ has me forever….poor sucker!! jk

Back to work....

Yep sadly I had to go back to work on Monday. Luckily it was only half day, but I still missed my little girl like crazy. I was strong though, no tears!! I just have to keep telling myself that it’s only till May. Russ will graduate then, and hopefully get a job that he likes! He’s had some interviews so we will see what happens. But I’m going to miss being a stay at home mom all the time. Thankfully my mom is going to watch her for couple of hours on Mon and Wed. till I get home and Russ has Tuesdays and Thursdays off so he can watch her. Fridays and some Saturdays I have off yay!
I do have to vent about Wells Fargo a little….so sorry to you Wells people who read this. Wells has been trying to better their customer service in the branches so they have come up with having the tellers shake the hands of their customers. We already have to say “Welcome to Wells Fargo”, say our name, smile, talk to them the whole time, say “thank you for your business”, and incorporate their name in somewhere during the transaction. All of which I think is great customer service….saying my name is a little awkward at times but I can handle that. But they have gone too far with this whole hand shake thing. First of all, talk about the germ spread. I already touch the dirty money, now I have to touch their dirty hands. Plus, people who come in not handling money, now has to shake my hand who has handled everyone’s dirty money. Nasty!! Anti-bacterial you say, well it will dry my hands out, make them crack, then bleed. Oh how fun is that! Second of all reaching over the teller line to shake hands is weird and awkward!! Everyone I have talked to thinks it’s pretty stupid. They don’t want to come in the bank to shake hands…. just to get their stuff done and out of there!! I can justify the hand shake with a banker when they introduce themselves and invite the custimer into their space to help them with different things. I'm interested in what you all think! I'm doing a survey!!!

Shots...shots....shots

Whitney went to get her shots and a check up yesterday....poor little girl. Those were her first shots, since she didn't get any when she was born. Daddy took her to the Doctor since Mom has been sick the last few days. It broke Dad's heart watching her cry when she got them. But Whit was a good sport! She slept most the day but I could tell she was in a little pain when she was awake. Thank goodness for Tylenol, that helped a lot. Despite it all she still could put on a smile!!

Whitney's Baby Blessing!!

Sunday March 1st was little Whit's baby blessing! What a great day it turned out to be. Russ gave the most beautiful blessing I have ever heard! I know I'm a little bias, but actually there was another lady from our ward that said the same thing. He had many compliments. That boy never ceases to amaze me!!

Whitney wore the same dress that I was blessed in and she looked beautiful! Actually that same dress has seen a lot of blessings in its day. My mom blessed all 5 of her girls, and Whit was the 3rd grandchild blessed in it. I'm sure there is more blessings to come!! The only thing I regret about that day was I should of taken more pictures. I've learned that there is never too many pictures!!
