Carol's 50th birthday party!

My MOM turned 50!! What a party we had! We did a 50's theme and had all her friends and family over. It was a great turn out!!

Canning....

Last week Russ wanted his mom to teach us how to can peaches. I was pretty impressed with his desire and ambition in learning! Linda had a lot of peaches this year and offered them to anyone who wanted them. Russ went out and picked all the peaches we needed to can. Canning was a lot easier than we thought-we are pro canners so now on to building up our food storage :D

OLD........Me, OLD? What?.......When were were doing this little trick, a little girl of Chris and Mindy's family saw that Lisa was cold and said that ONLY OLD LADY'S like Lisa and I get cold out of the pool. Hey.....I wasnt cold, so I couldnt be old.....right. Sad reality check, we are old :( Hey but at least us oldies can still pull off high towers like this....we can't be that old :D

Weekend Fun!

We had a weekend of fun! Ashley, Avery, Whit, Russ and I, all had a sleep over at Granny Carols house. Here's a picture of the girls in the morning.

On Friday we went to Zoo! It was a little too hot, but still a lot of fun! Our favorite part was to see the little baby giraffe!

I do have to mention that there are good honest people in this world! Ashley dropped her camera outside of the train right before we took off and was frantically tooking for it in our bags, but it was no where to be found. When the train pulled into the station, a nice couple told us that we dropped our camera and they gave it to the ticket worker. I'm sure we've all been there....don't you love honest people!!

Family from Cali

Family was here from California and it was so much fun. Sadly they were here for a funeral, but the rest of the weekend was a blast. Its not that often that we find ourselves together, but once we're together again, feels like we never left each other. Russ and I decided to sleep over at his parents in a tent outside. Most of the relatives were staying there, others in a hotel. We had lunch up in the canyon with everyone, went star gazing, and just hung out! Rick and Roger's father past away, so we were able to attend the funeral. What a beautiful service. Its was sad circumstances that brought us together, but non the less we had a chance to be with them and for that we were grateful. I believe that Whit was the star of the party though, they sure loved her and were glad to finally meet her. She's a people person and she wanted to make sure everyone was in love with her before they left....what a character. (Where did she ever learn that???) We just love our family! We get the change to see them again very soon. Amanda is getting married in Sept and we are going to the wedding in Lake Tahoe! Can't Wait!!

HAPPY 28TH BIRTHDAY HONEY!!

AUGUST 11TH-
We had so much fun for Russ' birthday. I really tried to spoil him for his big day. Russ leaves at 6:30a, so I woke up really early to make him breakfast burritos before he left to work. Work was work, but at the end of the day they had donuts in a meeting...that's a good birthday treat! Whit and I decorated the house and picked up panda express for dinner. When Russ' came in the door, I blew a little party horn, well tried! It didn't work at first, but when it finally did, Whit started screaming. She didn't like that too much-poor Whit. But we had a nice dinner and went shopping after. We both got new tennis rackets, a Frisbee, he got some pants, and Whit and I bought him a new game to play. Happy Birthday Rusty!!

On saturday Aug. 8th we got together and celebrated Russ, Shelby, and Kristy's birthday. We went Texas Road House-which is one of the best restaurants ever-then went back to my moms to have cupcakes and games.

It did get a little messy with the cake....yum!!
